Keep Your Business Account Secure

Your account is secured with real-time reporting, automatic shut down of your session after 30 minutes of inactivity, and encryption. Plus, Bath Savings uses a dedicated server and a firewall, which acts as a barrier between the Internet and the bank.

Here’s what you and your employees can do:

  • Stay secure online. Never leave your computer unattended after you have signed on. Use secure Internet connections, strong passwords, anti-virus programs, and always be sure to encrypt sensitive data. Encryption means that your information is scrambled while it is on the Internet so that it can be kept private.
  • Protect your personal information. Use the latest version of your browser and clear your browser history often. Many browsers have a feature that leaves a trail every time you fill a web form. When not properly cleared, others can trace and access your personal information.
  • Be alert! Watch for unexplained account or network activity, pop ups, and suspicious emails. Unauthorized transactions can include anything from transferring funds from your company and adding fake employees to your payroll, to theft of sensitive customer information. If you detect a problem, contact us immediately. Stop online activity and remove any systems that may have been compromised. Keep a detailed record of what happened.
  • Know your responsibilities. Your account agreement with Bath Savings spells out the security measures required in your business. If you forget your password, BSI Online allows three invalid attempts before locking the system. Your account must then be reset.
